For people who are not familiar with Hawaii’s waters or are not highly skilled divers, there are many places in the islands that offer dive instruction and dive tours for those who wish to come in contact with the beautiful life located underneath Hawaiian waters. On Oahu, divers can find a variety of dive sites that include offshore lava formations, gottoess, as well as plane and shipwrecks.

Divers who travel to Maui can find most of the islands popular dive sites on the island’s west coast such as Molokini, Black Rock, and Five Caves. Kauai is extremely popular for its rugged and pristine diving, but winter swells make diving much more difficult than during the summer, when waters are much more calm. However, diving off the leeward coast of the Big Island is excellent because the large mountains tend to block the trade winds, leaving many of those dive sites with extremely calm, glassy waters.

The Hawaiian archipelago is the product of multiple volcanic explosions and blasts millions of years ago. Kilauea is the only remaining active volcano, located on the south-eastern part of the Big Island, which continues to spill streams of lava into the Pacific Ocean.

In terms of volcanoes, looks can be misleading. Kilauea looks like an inconspicuous bulge on the southeastern side of Mauna Loa. For many years, it was thought to be nothing but a satellite of its giant neighbor. Now, it is known that Kilauea has its own extensive magma-pumping system, extending to the surface for more than 60 km (37 miles) into the earth’s crust. Kilauea’s summit lies on a line of volcanoes which include Kohala and Mauna Kea.

Hawaiian folklore colors Kilauea as the home of Pele, the Hawaiian volcano goddess. The caldera was the site of nearly continuous volcanic activities during the 19th century and early 20th century. Since 1952 alone there have been about volcanic 35 eruptions have been recorded. Presently, the Kilauea volcano is amongst the world’s most active volcanoes.

The Big Island may be the youngest of the Hawaiian islands, but it is also the largest. Because of the gigantic mountains present on the Big Island, some of the volcanoes can only be viewed from the air via helicopters. A great example of this is at the Volcano National Park, where land and foot access is prohibited due to the deadly hot volcanic lava.

Due to this exciting obstacle, many Hawaiian tour agencies offer helicopter and light plane tours to see Hawaii and view its dangerously majestic volcanoes from the air. The guided tours are conducted professionally with well trained and personable tour guides relating the history in quirky story-telling narratives. While helicopter tours are a favored activity by tourists, it can get expensive if one chooses to tour Hawaii as a family.

If you chooses to take a helicopter tour, they are available at the Hilo airport. From there, the helicopters soar directly to Kilauea’s volcanic system allowing tourists visual access to current volcanic activities. It also gives tourists a bird’s eye view to the coastal region that has been devastated by previous lava flows and eruptions.

Some tours may also soar to Kauai, the Garden Island, which is the oldest of the main Hawaiian Islands. The lush rainforest serves as a back-drop for many Hollywood movies. Much of the island in uninhabited, leaving a landscape of blossoming forests, pristine waterfalls, vibrant rainbows and fertile valleys. Helicopter tours also grant access to the wilderness that couldn’t be seen otherwise else.

If you wants to experience Hawaii’s natural beauty in its full magnificence , do consider a Hawaiian helicopter tour.

Your Hawaiian honeymoon is about to begin. Holding your beloved’s hand, you sit back and close your eyes as the airplane lifts into the sky. In a few hours your honeymoon begins–for real–in Hawaii.

Ideas of the perfect honeymoon vary. Some may seek tranquility, the soothing sounds of the ocean waves

and the fragrant tropical gardens to reach a state of serenity. Others may find the solace in the many outdoor challenges that the natural terrain offer.

Whatever it is you’re looking for, Hawaii is a favored honeymoon spot due to its warm weather and lush vegetation. Out of the main Hawaiian islands, the most popular are Oahu, the Big Island (Hawaii), Kauai and Maui.

Those who want an outdoors adventure have the opportunity to engage in all the aquatic activities that each island has to offer. Activities include, and definitely are not limited to, surfing, snorkeling, sailing, and scuba diving. For those who may prefer to remain dry, outdoor sports, ranging from golfing to mountain biking. Some must-dos if you choose to honeymoon in Hawaii include dinner cruises, enjoying Polynesian Cultural events, and helicopter tours.

The diversity that Hawaii offers is so vast that weeks on the island could not encompass all of its treasures. Knowing that time is limited, following are brief summaries of the individual islands so you can find one that best suits your wants. Included with each summary are two of highly rated hotels on each island.

Oahu

Many people who visit Hawaii for the first time choose to arrive via Honolulu. By Hawaiian standards, Honolulu has reasonably priced accomodations and many opportunities for inexpensive flights or all-inclusive packages. Also, on Oahu’s North Shore, some of the best surfing in the world can be found.

A popular destination for first time travelers to Hawaii is Honolulu. By Hawaii standards, accommodations and flights are reasonably priced, and there are many opportunities for inexpensive all-inclusive packages. The mix of local culture and scenery, and the ease of metropolitan living make Honolulu an easy transition between the vastly different worlds on the island.

Oahu is home to some of the world’s most famous beaches. One of them includes the North Shore, best known for the gigantic waves that are consistently found throughout the year. On the other side of the island lies Waikiki Beach, which may be the best-known beach in the United States. Aside from aquatic activities, Honolulu is home to many cultural and historic sites, as it was the epicenter for much of Hawaii’s own history. There is also a broad range of activities, cultural and historic sites to nature trails and beaches. The mixture of activities available make Honolulu a very versatile honeymoon vacation spot.

Two of the best honeymoon hotels on Oahu are in Honolulu.

The Halekulani, is a modern, airy hotel–a refuge, really. It has been operating since 1917, and is the only hotel in the state that has received a five-star rating from AAA. Outstanding service and excellent dining are the hallmark of the Halekulani. Located off of the main street in Waikiki, it is an ideal spot for rest and relaxation.

The Hyatt Regency Waikiki across from Waikiki beach has excellent views of the beach, the surfers riding the waves, along with views of Diamond Head. Choosing this hotel will place you in the heart of Waikiki.

Big Island (Hawaii)

The Big Island has the most diverse ecology of all the islands. The active volcanoes on this island allow for distinctive plant life to thrive with the help of the many indigenous wildlife. Vacationing on the Big Island offers visitors the opportunity to interact more freely with the environment. In the Waipio Valley, you can ride horseback, viewing huge waterfalls, thousand foot cliffs and black sand beaches. At Volcanoes National Park you can see the world’s most active volcano, Kilauea. The Kona coast (west side) is a seventy mile stretch of black lava-covered coastline, noted for its coffee and world-class deep sea fishing. The summit of Mauna Kea, the tallest mountain in Hawaii, offers stargazing opportunities unlike any other place in the world.

As for honeymoon hotels, here are two of the best: The Kona Village Resort on the island’s west side is a nearly perfect honeymoon destination. Located on the beachfront, this hotel offers thatched-roof bungalows. Within the hotel, activities range from experiencing a traditional luau to exploring the local marine life. Travel and Leisure Magazine has rated this as one of the world’s top 50 romantic getaways.

Mauna Lani Bay Hotel and Bungalows in Kohala offers many unique features. Palm trees and flowing pools greet you as you enter the atrium around which the hotel is centered. If choosing this location, the oceanfront rooms have dazzling views. The South course, built on a lava flow, offers a unique view as well. With its accommodating staff and many services, this resort is exquisite. It features two of the island’s best golf courses.

Maui

The island of Maui offers world-class resorts and rental condominiums scattered amidst the island’s natural wonders.

Maui’s main natural attraction is Haleakala National Park. Hawaiians revere the mountain as a sacred site in much of their history and folklore. Many people journey to the summit of the crater to watch the sunrise.

Along the famous road to Hana, Maui boasts some of the best beaches on the islands. Several of the golf courses along the PGA Tour. Aquatic adventures of all sorts are abundant along the west and south shores of the island.

If your vision of the perfect Hawaii honeymoon is to get away from it all and still have many comforts and conveniences, Maui is the place for you.

Hotel Hana-Maui, on the east coast of the island, is noted for its seclusion and luxury service, so if you want to slow-down and relax, this hotel is sure to please you. There are two ways to arrive at this particular hotel. Hotel One route is the long drive from the Kahului airport. If you wish to forego this particular adventure, flying into Hana airport from Honolulu is another option.

The Four Seasons Maui at Wailea is an exquisite property with an open courtyard of reflecting ponds, fountains and gardens. Nearly all the rooms have ocean views and lanais where you can watch the sunset and see whales in winter. You can enjoy the ever-present ocean while receiving a massage in your own private cabana. Surrounding this hotel are great restaurants and shopping.

Kauai

Kauai is known as the Garden Isle because of its endless forests and tropical vegetation found no where else.

The nightlife is nonexistent on the island, however the magic of the moonlight and the endless waves of emerald green overshadow this fact.

The natural beauty of the island can be found everywhere, but is most prominent along the NaPali coast or in Waimea Canyon. The Waimea Canyon, called the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, bursts with ever-changing color due to the multitudes of reddish lava beds.

This island offers miles of trails through tropical forests and along ocean cliffs, and has many opportunities for all kinds of outdoor adventures.

Priceville Hotel on the North Shore’s NaPali coast is richly furnished in a casually elegant style. It sits on a cliff between the crystal-blue waters of Hanalei Bay and the volcanic mountains. Most rooms have ocean views, the hotel itself has easy access to Puu Poa Beach. With many opportunities for fun and relaxation available, you can do as much or as little as you like. If you’re looking to spend romantic evenings on the beach, private dinners are available, and money is not a concern.

The Hyatt Regency Kauai Resort and Spa is on the South Shore. The grounds are exotic, and the multiple pools are incredible, integrating perfectly with the diverse vegetation and terrain. With a golf course, multiple spas and five restaurants, you will never have to leave this resort if you don’t want to. Of course this all comes with a high price tag, but if you are looking for luxury on your Hawaiian honeymoon, this is the place.

I hope your honeymoon in Hawaii is all that you want it to be. Remember: “There is only one happiness in life, to love and be loved.”

Some have said that Hawaii’s sailing vacations are slightly expensive, however, the experience is worth it. If looking to travel in the ultimate comfort, a crewed boat is the best option. Crewed boats ensure that everything will be handled by the charter. This is a great contrast to sailing by yourself through a bareboat. The Happy Weather
Anyone who has been to Hawaii would agree that the tropical weather is most enjoyable, particularly those who have taken a sailing vacation in Hawaii. Both locals and tourists consider Hawaii to be one of America’s greatest treasures. The islands serve as a refuge for the many guests who are looking to escape the busy city life.

With the subtropical climate, Hawaii enjoys the best of both worlds. Along with the sailing, the white sand beaches can be enjoyed year round due to the mild temperate weather. Because of its location in the Pacific, storms can hit every now and then, causing unpredictable waters. Jackets and heavy coats are unneeded as the sun shines almost all day long.

If on a Hawaii sailing vacation, it is the best time to get the tan you want. The Hawaii sun is perfect for those looking to tan, as the sun’s ray provide a mild heat that doesn’t burn. That, however, does not exempt anyone from putting on sunscreen. As a precaution to sunburns, apply a considerable amount of sunscreen to protect your skin from UV rays.

Weather is a large factor for those looking to plan the perfect vacation. Hawaii is synonymous to a place where people could enjoy water sports of all kinds. This idea instills a sense of relaxation to the tired mind and burdened body. Because of the healing properties associated with water, people do more than flock to the islands to fill the need to get away.

The Best Option If planning to indulge in a Hawaii sailing vacation, yacht charters are the best option. By choosing a yacht charter, you have access to and around the beautiful coastlines of this tropical paradise.

Choosing a Hawaii sailing vacation would guarantee enjoyment of the balmy breezes of the tropical islands. From here, you can watch surfers as they glide effortlessly across the waves. Along with this view, one can watch the gentle waves rock the boat over the sea of endless blue. This, along with the islands on the horizon add to the perfect vacation.

If asked what you associate with beaches, the first place that would come to is Hawaii. What makes Hawaii memorable, however, is that it is a isolated paradise filled with enchantment. It has tropical weather year-round, a rich native culture and history, beautiful flora, and a volcano that’s as active as the ocean surrounding it. While Hawaii is a chain of small islands, there are many activities available in the sea and sky, and everywhere in between.

Following are the top 9 things you must do on your Hawaiian Islands Vacation:

9. Visit World War II Remains: Pearl Harbor and USS Arizona

To get to know a place, you must first know its history. Visiting Pearl Harbor then is a must for all tourists to pay tribute to the war heroes who died during the bombing of December 7, 1941. This naval base used to play a major role in US military strategy and is a significant part of the nation’s history. Today, it is one of the top tourist attractions in Hawaii. You may also proceed at the Arizona Memorial and for yourself the remains of the sunken USS Arizona below the glass floor. The best thing in touring these places is that the entrance is free to both!

The history of a place is as important as the place itself. All tourists should visit Pearl Harbor, the longstanding tribute to the war heroes who died during the bombing of December 7, 1941. The Pearl Harbor naval base once played a major role in US military strategy and is significant in America’s history. Now, it is one of the top tourist attractions in Hawaii. From here, you could continue onto the Arizona Memorial, and view the sunken remains of the USS Arizona through the glass floor. Best part about these places? Entrance is free.

8. Experience a Polynesian Luau

The Hawaiian vacation experience is rendered incomplete without attending a Polynesian Luau. It is a showcase of Hawaiian cuisine and culture through a grand feast filled with lots of food and entertainment. Dishes normally served include kalua pork and teriyaki chicken. If you’re daring, you may even try a local delicacy known simply as, poi, a concoction made out of the root plant, taro. While enjoying your meal, you will also be delighted by the traditional Polynesian music, fire dancers and hula maidens swaying in grass skirts.

7. Go Volcano Watching

Hawaii is popular for its volcanoes, both dormant and active. If looking to vacation on the Big Island, the Volcanoes National Park, located on the southern end, is a must-see,. Here, you can find two of the world’s most fascinating volcanoes, Mauna Loa and Kilauea. Mauna Loa is the world’s largest dormant volcano, reaching a staggering height of 13,677 feet high. Kilauea is an active volcano, which produces steam and flowing lava that gives birth to interesting volcanic formations.

6. See Waimea Canyon

Waimea Canyon is on Kauai, located at the Koke’e State Park. It is the largest canyon in the Pacific, earning the nickname “the Grand Canyon of the Pacific.” It is approximately 10 miles long, and 3,600 feet deep. The canyon is the result of centuries of flooding due to the flowing rivers of the dormant Mount Waiealeale. The canyon walls show traces of carving by volcanic lava which create interesting patterns and formations.

5. Watch whales and dolphins

If you want to see whales up-close, go to the Big Island between the months of December and April. Some areas of the coast attract humpback whales after their migration in the cold regions. The island is also home for other species like killer whales and ***** whales. If you want to see dolphins instead, you can visit Oahu Island during the first week of May as plenty of dolphins draw together off the coast.

4. Enjoy a Helicopter Ride

Hawaii’s beauty knows no bounds. If looking to experience all of its wonders at a single time, consider taking a helicopter tour. The aerial view allows you to see the entire state of Hawaii and help deepen your own appreciation for the islands.

3. Try Snorkeling

Each island of Hawaii has its own share of the unique sea life. Of all its sites, however, the crescent-shpaed island of Molokini, located Maui, tops them all. It is a marine life park, and is considered one of the top 10 snorkeling spots in the world. Beneath the waves lie rainbows of fish, some of which are indigenous to Hawaii, making this activity a learning adventure. If you don’t know how to snorkel, the world beneath the waves is not closed off. Instead, consider renting a boat with a glass bottom to view the sea life underneath!

2. Chill out on the beach

A Hawaii vacation is nothing without a trip to the beach! The beach is visible from every part of the island, and the turquoise waves beckon to everyone who sees them. The most popular and iconic beach would be Waikiki Beach, located at the south of Oahu and is home to some of the most luxurious Hawaiian hotels. The beach leaves two options: engaging in the seaside fun or to lay back, relax, and tan in the warm Hawaiian sun. Either way guarantees fun!

1. Surf! Ride the Waves

Of course, surfing rises to the top of the list of activities to do. Hawaii is popular to surfers because of its endless supply of waves. Although it is possible to surf on any of the islands, the North Shore of Oahu beats all. Waves there can reach heights of 30 feet, especially during the first three months of the year, as well as the last. If you want to learn how to surf, Maui is the best option. The gentle waves here make this island ideal for beginners.

A Hawaiian vacation is truly unforgettable. It’s no wonder that it keeps bringing in millions of tourists. Aside from all the activities available, the warmth and hospitality of the Hawaiian people add to the experience. There is no other place on earth where you are greeted with warm smiles and aloha. It is truly heaven on earth.
